Arnold Palmer - a Giant

Central Florida lost a big one this weekend.
Arnold Palmer was a King in the Golf world, but his achievements over-spilled into the very community in which he called his second home.
He was first class. A man gifted in sport, in personality. A trailblazer.  A man who could claim his fiercest competitor his best friend. And his, him.
There are so many accolades I could give him, but right now I am remembered by the sight of seeing him in his golf cart, at the Bay Hill condos area, his charisma radiating out on that sun-drenched day, courteously acknowledging a stranger.
Rest in Peace, Arnold Palmer. You really did the world good.

"Palmer was the first athlete to receive three of the United States’ civilian honors: the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the National Sports Award and, shown here in 2012, the Congressional Gold Medal." NYT
